Deux cimetieres differents...
//.Bonjour encore! Donc voici la suite de mes photos, l'Abbey de Sligo ou il y a 8000 corps d'enterres dans moins de 500m carre et Carrowmore, site funeraire megalithique (donc tres vieux!). Encore une fois, si vous voulez lire mon resume de fin de semaine a Sligo ou voir les photos precedentes, vous n'avez qu'a derouler la page ou cliquer sur le titre du message correspondant dans la barre a droite!

//.Donc premierement, l'Abbey en general, deux angles de vues!
//.First, Sligo Abbey, general view from two different angles.
//.Je perds mon francais, mais en gros c'est la partie "eglise" de l'Abbey, la ou les freres recevaient les citoyens pour les ceremonies.
//.Here is the nave part of the Abbey. The friars received the patrons for masses and ceremonials.
//.Une fresque "importante". Tellement importante qu'elle bloque la huitieme fenetre de l'eglise et pas n'importe laquelle! CELLE qui faisait rayonner la lumiere du Soleil sur l'autel! Il fallait etre sacrement riche pour obtenir une telle place, et effectivement, l'homme en question etait un proche de la Reine Elizabeth a ce moment la... L'autre photo presente un petit tombeau creuse dans un alcove.
//.An "important" fresque on the wall. So importante that it blocks THE window, from where the sun should light the altar! Only VERY rich people could get such a place, and effectively, the owner was a friend of no other than Queen Elizabeth! The other picture presents a small tomb.
//.Donc voici un autre tombeau important avec 9 mini sculptures, des saints, Marie, Jesus et l'Arch-Ange Michael! Mais plus important, Sainte-Catherine!! Elle est morte en se faisant torturer par une "roue"... donc elle tient le symbole de la roue dans la main et une epee dans l'autre parce qu'elle veux se venger! Et bien! Je la trouvait plutot sympathique! L'autre photo prouve encore une fois que l'Eglise est bel et bien un ordre religieux patriarcal...
//.Another Important tombs with 9 small sculptures of saints, Mary, Jesus and Arch-Angel Michael. Most importantly, Saint-Catherine!! She died being tortured by a "wheel"... so she is holding a wheel and a sword because she is vengeful of her death or something... Well, I found her rather sympathetic! The other picture proves again that our religion is really patriarcal...

//.Two pictures of the cloister.
//.Un os qui sortait du sol, tout bonnement. Autre photo, l'interieur d'une tombe qui a subit les ravages du temps, ou des gens. On voit un tibia! Je crois... Et une croix timide qui nous yeute de l'autre cote!
//.A bone that was half buried in the ground. Other picture, the interior of a tomb, derelict by time, or by people. And a splendid leg bone! I think... And a shy cross peering at us from the other side!
//.Me voici maintenant en route vers Carrowmore. A note, j'ai visite ce site AVANT l'Abbey... enfin bon! On voit au loin le Knocknarea et sur son sommet, on peut distinguer la silhouette d'une giga-tombe megalithique! Deuxieme image, les ruines d'une maison que j'ai trouvee sur le chemin. C'etait superbe avec la pluie et les vignes!
//.On my way to Carrowmore. Note that I visited this site BEFORE the Sligo Abbey. We can see in the distance Knocknarea and on its top we can guess the shape of a giga megalithic tomb. Second photo, ruins of a very old house I found on the way. It was absolutely gorgeous with the rain and the vines!
//.Donc voici la tombe principale du site meme si je ne la trouvait pas particulierement impressionnante. C'est gros, oui, mais c'est un tas de roche. Tas de roche reconstitue par ailleurs car dans le passe, les proprietaires du terrain qui avaient trouver le tombeau se sont servi des pierres pour faire des clotures... Entk! Deuxieme image, le dolmen qui a a l'interieur du tas de roche. Normalement, on ne peut pas le voir, mais pour le bien de la cause, ils ont organise le tas de roches de maniere a ce qu'on puisse y entrer.
//.Here's the main tomb of the archeological site, which I did not find very impressing. Mainly, it is a big rocky hill that was, by the way, rebuilt artificially because in the past, the land owners used the tomb's rocks to build fences for their cattle! Second image, the dolmen inside the rocky hill, usually it is not supposed to be opened like that, but for the purpose of the tour, it is opened, and anyway, it is partially fake (the sotne hill, not the dolmen).
//.Voila de plus belles tombes, a mon avis. Cercle de pierre original inclu avec vu sur le littoral ; ). On voit encore le Knocknarea avec son tombeau, celui de la Reine Maeve semble-t-il. Je dois retourner la bas pour monter cette montagne d'ailleurs! Et surfer a nouveau haha! D'ailleurs, photos a venir: Strandhill!!
//.Much more beautiful tombs, in my opinion. Original rock circle and view on the sea included! We can see the Knocknarea again with its tomb on the top, Queen Maeve's tomb they say. I need to return to Sligo to climb that mountain! And to surf again as well!!! Next pictures: Strandhill!!
//.Petit oubli, haha. Donc une pierre qui vomit de la verdure! C'etait a l'Abbey ca! Enfin c'etait pas le but de la sculpture mais ca me donnait cette impression et je trouvais ca charmant! Ensuite les Ox Mountains vues a partir de Carrowmore, au-dessus desquelles on peut aussi voir en tout petit la silhouette de tombeaux megalithiques!
//.Forgot two little pictures! First, a stone sculpture barfing vegetation! It was in the Abbey. Mind you that it was not the goal of this sculpture, it just gave me that impression and I found it quite charming! And then the Ox Mountains viewed from Carrowmore. We can see the faint silhouette of other megalithic tombs on the top of each mountain as well!

hello mon tit david, ca l'air tellement beau, tous ces cimetieres envahis par les verdures, ca devait etre tellement cool se promener la bas, meme a grosse pluie battante!!
