Londres! partie 1
//.Premiere partie de ma fin de semaine a Londres. Comment dire... ce fut absolument génial! Il a fait beau soleil samedi et dimanche et juste couvert lundi! Frais mais comfortable, bref la température était de notre coté selon les rumeurs sur le climat londonien! J'adore cette ville, vraiment, je ne m'attendais pas a ca! J'ai jamais eu une belle vision de la métropole mais maintenant, ca me semble un endroit tout a fait agréable ou vivre! En résumé, beaucoup de marche a travers la ville et de voyagement par le "Tube" (Métro Londonien) afin de voir les principales attractions.
//.First part of my weekend in London. How to say it... it was absolutely fantastic! Sunny weather for both saturday and sunday with only a cover of clouds on monday! Chilly but stil comfortable, so it seems the weather was on our side considering the rumours of London's usual climate! I love this city, really! And I didn't expect that at all since my vision of the metropolis was quite negative, but I can safely affirm that it would be a nice place to live! In brief, a lot of walk accross the city and a lot of travelling in the unerdground "Tube" (London's subway) to see the main attractions.
//.Premier arret, rive Nord. La Cathédrale St Paul, aux environs de laquelle le Grand Incendie de Londres de 1666 aurait commencé. Elle a d'ailleurs été pas mal détruite par celui-ci si je ne me trompe pas et elle a donc été reconstruite. Je n'y ai pas pénétré, faute de temps et d'argent (c'est cher la bas! heureusement, les musées sont en général gratuits, merci a Tony Blair...).
//.First stop, North side. St Paul's Cathedral, around which the Great Fire of London in 1666 is believed to have started. It actually was destroyed by it if I am right and it was reconstructed afterwards. I didn't go inside as everything here is very expansive for tourists and we had a lot to see anyways! (the museums are pretty much free though, which is good, thanks to Tony Blair...)
//.La Thamise a partir du pont allant de la Cathédrale St Paul vers le musée Tate Modern. On peut voir le fameux Tower Bridge au loin.
//.The Thames from the bridge from St Pauls to the Tate Modern museum.
//.Deuxieme arret, rive Sud. Dans le musée Tate Modern, il y avait une "exposition" composée en gros de 5 glissades dont trois de plus de trois étages de haut! Il fallait se procurer les billets en avant-midi pour revenir glisser en fin de journée tellement c'était populaire! Heureusement, gratuit! Merci Tony Blair! (encore une fois, imaginez la voix du ptit garcon dans les annonces de Duro Vitres d'Auto!) Celle du 4eme étage était la plus agréable. Une bonne sensation de glisse a haute vitesse avec bonne force gravitationnelle, et le tout super securitaire! Celle du 5eme (la plus haute) donnait mal a la tete a cause des bosses dans le parcours, alors moins amusante... En sortant du musée il y avait quelques marchands de différents produits dont fromages et pains faits maison, gugusses qui font des bulles géantes et masques de lutte mexicaine! Et plus loin, ce vieux navire baignait dans un bassin de brique!
//.Second stop, South side. In the Tate Modern museum, there was an "exposition" of 5 slides, three of which more than three levels high! We had to get the tickets in the morning to return to test them in the afternoon because it was so popular. At least it was free, thanks Tony! The fourth level one was the best, high speed, good gravitationnal force! The fifth one (the highest) hurt the head as there was a lot of bumps in the slide, so it wasnt that fun... In front of the museum, merchants were selling a wide vartiey of products such as home made cheese and bread, gagdets to make ginat bubbles and mexican wrestling masks! A little farther down the south river walk, this old ship was floating in a brick basin next to the Thames.
//.Plus loin encore le long de la rive Sud, nous sommes passé dans un marché ouvert mais couvert... v'voyez? Enfin! Il y avait cette étrange sculpture d'un bateau avec un nez au centre. Intéressant...
//.Continuig on the South side, we passed through this market, open yet covered... y'see? Anyways! There was that weird sculpture of a boat with a nose in the center. Interesting...
//.Troisieme point d'intéret, rive Sud. Le Tower Bridge. Tout le monde connait ce pont la! Y'a rien de plus a dire (que je connaisse, haha!) De l'autre coté, le Chateau de Londres si je ne me trompe pas, je n'ai pas visité, c'était assez de l'observer et surtout, manque de temps!
//.Third point of interest, South side. The Tower Bridge. Everyone have seen it before and there's nothing I can say about it more that what I know... not much! On the other side, London Castle I think, we didn't visit, it was enough to go around and see it, but mainly, lack of time!
//.La Thamise vue du Tower Bridge. On peut voir pour la premiere fois, le "Gherkin" building moderne affectueusement surnommé le "cornichon" par sa forme... meme s'il me fait plus penser a un oeuf de Fabergé géant et oblong... Je m'en suis servi comme point de repere tout au long de ma fin de semaine. Et je ne parle pas de la photo de droite! Ca c'est une autre batisse moderne quelconque... sans surnom et trop petite pour etre un point de repere, de la mon désintéret. (sarcasme...)
//.Thames viewed from the Tower Bridge. We can see for the first time the "Gherkin", modern building that I used as my primary landmark for the whole weekend. And I am not talking about the smaller egg-like building of the right-hand picture. This one doesn't have a surname and is too small to be used as a landmark, thus my complete lack of interest in it. (sarcasm...)

//.Quatrieme arret, rive Nord. Un building ayant gagné des prix d'architectures sur Finsbury street. C'est comme le squelette d'un édifice, j'adore! Un peu "gigeresque" n'est-ce pas? Ensuite un des nombreux édifices a colonnades et statues autour de la station Bank, qui, vous le devinnez, est au centre de pas mal d'établissements banquaires! Enfin, ils l'étaients avant de déménager en grande partie dans la section "gratte-ciel" de Londres: Canary Wharf.
//.Fourth stop, North side. A building that won numerous achitectural prizes on Finsbury street. It's like the skeleton of a building, I love it! A little bit "gigeresque" isn't it? Next picture, one of the numerous "pillars and statues" buildings around Bank station. You guessed it, it is in the center of the bank area. Well, it was, until most of the banks moved to the "skyscrapper" part of London: Canary Wharf.
